Which version?
I've just purchased a DVD of this film with two versions on it: the 2005 Special Edition & the 1988 Turner Preview Edition. Which of these would be the better one to watch first? Thanks.

The Turner Preview cut; the later Special Edition cut is awful. It was the first version I saw and I didn't like the film. The Turner cut improved my opinion of it dramatically.
shareI prefer the Special Edition version. I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all. It's definitely not "awful"!!
The first version I saw was the original 1973 cinema cut, and I enjoyed that as well. I always wanted to get the DVD which was closer to the original movie. As that is no longer available, except for on VHS, the 2005 cut is right for my needs.
