Would Connery have fit?
If Connery had agreed to do this film as a last Bond, do you think he would've fit?

shareAs a pretty persistent person, Sean would probably refuse to do certain scenes which is embarasingly uncomfortable, like the ones where Bond hides a girl in the closet, burning Carver with a cigg without appologizing despite she´s reveals that she is an agent a s o.

Can you imagine Connery or even Lazenby Bond in the first Filet of Soul scene? Either one would have been whacking the denizens of the place with pool cues to find out where Dr Kananga had gone;
"Where's Kananga? <whomp> I didn't quite catch that <whomp>"
Connery's boredom with the role was apparent in Diamonds are Forever. He would have sleepwalked through this film. It was time for new blood.
shareMoore's my favorite Bond, but even though this is his film even he doesn't fit. I don't know if any one person can really be blamed, or it was a combination of actor/writers/director, but I don't think anybody really knew how to make a Moore/Bond film yet. TMWTGG wasn't much better, they didn't get it right until TSWLM. So I don't think Connery would have fit any worse, and had he been on board from the beginning they probably would have written a film that he was a better fit for him as they knew how to make Connery/Bond films.
"Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie son?"
He was too busy making awesome films like Zardoz. LOL
Yeah, I SO don't believe that he was too rich to make another Bond movie. That might be what he said later, but giving up Bond to make Zardoz?
Either he was lying or he should have never trusted his agent.
OMG. Sean was tired of spending over a whole decade playing the same guy. It stopped him from developing his skills. Also, Bond gave him so many private problems because of his godlike status and fame.
shareThere were many reasons he quit the Bond series, initially, in 1967:
He was upset that his non Bond films like MARNIE, THE HILL, and A FINE MADNESS were not big hits and were being ignored
He didn't like the 6 month filming schedule and the media frenzy each year that surrounded making a Bond movie
He felt that the Bond producers were making tens of millions off of him, and he was upset that he wasn't made a financial partner in the series
He didn't like the gadgets and "hardware" (as he called it) and the over to top, science fiction direction that the Bond films were going in
Yeah, as if Zardoz was the only movie he went on to star in. It wasn't even the first one he did after quitting Bond - that would have been the excellent, underrated The Offence. There's hardly any question that Connery had a fine, long post-Bond career.
"facts are stupid things" Ronald Reagan
Hey, "facts are stupid things" guy...do some research. It was a slip of the tongue. Reagan was tired. He didn't really mean it. He laughed when he accidentally said it, and immediately corrected himself. Get educated, dude.
