I can't believe that was the same Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith who played in "The Swinging Cheerleaders" just a year later. She looked remarkably child-like in this movie - very excellent choice for the part, too, BTW.

She was supposed to be an 18-year-old playing a 15-year-old, but she lied about her age, so she really was only 15 or 16 when she made this. Yes, she was a great choice- she really carries this movie. I'd like to see what she could have done with some more starring roles.
shareIn her bio, she was born in 1955. Since this movie was made in 1973, she would have had to be 18. If she lied about her age, IMDB would have posted the correct age and possibly put that in as a bit of trivia. I'm sure her son would have said something if his mother's page was incorrect. She was 46 when she died in 2002, so, at the very least, she was 17ish.

Yes and no. The pig tails and sack dress were supposed to make her look younger but they had the opposite effect - it looked like a girl in her late teens dressing like a child.
However, with her hair down and in her nightgown, she looked much younger than when they dressed her in pigtails!

I actually thought it was a typo when they said she was born in 1955 at the introduction of the movie. I guessed her to be 12 or 13 at the most. Her age did surprise me, but I agree she was great in the movie.
