Simply one of my top ten films

I appreciate that this film will not be for everyone. But for those with a passing interest in it, especially those who appreciate horror, will uinderstand its strange, unique approach to expressing the characters on screen.

Like an odd collision of a Disney childrens drama; 70s Euro-horror; and an atmosphere that veers from ultra-low budget grindhouse (Andy Milligan springs to mind, or MESSIAH OF EVIL) to truly beautiful photography. This all increases the uneasy atmosphere making it one of the creepiest films out there.

File next to CARNIVAL OF SOULS; VALERIE AND HER WEEKEND OF WONDERS; POSSESSION; MESSIAH OF EVIL, and you are already on your way to having a unique film colllection.

"Gran'pa was always tha best...."

Very well said, every scene in this movie is just so strange and creepy it leaves a lasting impression. Very nice of you to sugest other oddities like it. I'll have to check them out.

I must confess I didn't really like this movie the first time I watches it. While I recognized the atmosphere, use of color, cinematography, etc. I found it rather dull. But while I did think it was dull it still lingered in my mind and I couldn't stop thinking about it so I decided to watch it again and liked it a lot more. It still isn't one of my all time favorites but I do like it, think it's underrated, and recommend it to all fans of Gothic, supernatural horror.

I'm always looking to find atmospheric creepy movies like this. The Vampires Night Orgy from 1973 is fun too. A bus loaf of tourists come across a Spanish hill town inhabited by cannibal vampires.

I just watched this last night. I binge watch many horror movies, and I'm so happy to have discovered this rare gem.

It's ridiculously over the top, but pretty in a number of ways.
