I'm normally loathe to suggest such a thing, but, as fair as L:ACTotS turned out to be despite its overall ham-handed cheapness, there's a lot of potential for better treatment by an outsider director. Terry Gilliam, perhaps? Tim Burton?

If"The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun" has shown anything, it's that just because the original is flawed, doesn't mean the remake is going to be any better (in fact the remake was far worse).
and if there is someone with the talent to make a decent remake, I'd rather that talent be used to make something of their own. Haven't we had enough *beep* remakes this decade?

I think this film has aged pretty well and doesn't feel very dated. I'm not sure what a remake would be like but I'd probably watch out of curiosity.
