My biggest question after watching this.
Did Regan cause any permanent damage to her vagina after stabbing it repeatedly with a crucifix?

shareWell if you consider the show part of canon, Regan had two daughters, assuming they weren't adopted of course.
shareDidn't her face return to normal after the demon jumped into the priest's body? I'll assume her other injuries restored to normal health as well.
shareAssumptively, she was immediately attended to after the incident. Chris had at her disposal at least two physicians who would have responded immediately, and treated her injuries in a like manner to a rape victim. After her cure, there would surely have been ongoing checkups to monitor the healing process.
shareHow would it be immediately after the stabbing? The crucifix scene showed that the demon has full control over Regan now, and also revealed to Chris that Regan killed Burke Dennings. Chris has a line later when Karras says, in the novel, that "she really should be in a hospital." To which Chris refuses because she's afraid the truth about Burke might slip. So I don't see Chris calling in anybody, until immediately after Regan's exorcism.
shareThe interesting thing about Chris's revelation that her daughter is the killer, is something most don't seem to notice.
Chris comes to the realization that Regan killed Burke in the scene when Kinderman is still interrogating her. When she puts her hand to her mouth in a moment of subdued shock, Kinderman is interpreting her countenance as one that might suggest she's almost recalling the "package" that he's inquiring about at the moment. But that's not what's happening there.
Once Kinderman leaves, the demon does its thing (in perhaps the most horrific portion of the story). And it is because of the revelation Chris experiences at the dining table that the demon spews "You know what she did?" to confirm the truth of the matter. That was its response to the realization it knows Chris came to during the interrogation downstairs.
As for wombs, well, I don't think the crucifix was quite that large. Perhaps I shouldn't share this, but I guess it's only relative to mention that my ex and her twin sister were sodomized with broomsticks by their stepfather. They both now have multiple kids. Let's hope Regan went on to experience a similar recovery.
I'm not a control freak, I just like things my way

It had to be shortly after to staunch the bleeding/prevent infection. Once Regan had been bound to the bed for her own/others' safety, a quick call to Dr. Klein or Dr. Tanney would bring the physician over immediately. They knew that self-injury was part of Regan's symptoms, so they would not leap to some "who raped your daughter?" conclusion. They were only minutes from the house, so immediate care was available.
There is no reason Chris would not have called them. As with everyone else, she just kept the "secret revelation" that "Regan" killed Dennings to herself, while getting the quickest emergency care to her daughter.
She can also turn her head 180 degrees without dying, she's fine.
shareI wondered that too, whether she might need stitches or some form of repair.
