Who did Charles Nelson Reilly play?

I saw his name listed in the credits, but it didn't have a character's name listed for him. Does anyone know which character he was?
Thanks

That's what I want to know!

The situation is now so terrible that we have no choice but to BEGIN WRITING IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

I just saw the movie on TV. His name wasn't in the credits.

Maybe Uncle the pig? Or the bandleader? I want to know who he played too.

reply

I'm guessing he might've played the Gander. I haven't seen the movie in awile, but I know their is a Gander in the book and the play (I'm playing him soon in the play!) and he is listed under The Goose

The gander was omitted from this version of the book. And I did not see Reilly's name in the closing credits. I've been thinking, maybe IMDb inserted his name when they read Leonard Maltin's filmography. He lists Reilly under the film's voices, but he could have just heard one of the characters speak and thought it was him. Then, IMDb probably assumed they missed something and inserted him in. I'm not sure he was a voice in this at all.

He wasn't in the movie. I e-mailed Pamelyn Ferdin, and she told me so herself.

shanak... how do you know pamela ferdin? Do you know for sure you emailed her and that she responded. Besides, she was a little girl when the movie was made and she was just an actress , not a producer or a director.

I am not trying to be obstinent. I really want to know too. Id say Charles Nelsen Reilly would be the best one to ask. Even if Pamela was really the one to respond to you, I am not sure any actor would know for sure. It was an animated movie and they were all doing voice overs in a studio booth. Its not really like an actual movie and they are all hanging on the set together. If Charles had a minor roll, eg the gander...he might have done his lines one day and pamela might not even have been around!

Then again, she might be right!!!

Id just like to know for sure.

CNR has been credited for this unnamed role in a number of different places, including the VHS version and IMDB. This all seems unlikely if his voice was not in the animated film.

sorry... I apprciate you think you have THE answer after all this time but I am skeptical. We need to ask CNR himself!!

reply

I suppose you make a valid point there. I don't actually know Pamelyn Ferdin personally, I just e-mailed her as a fan. And it was she who responded, I can give you my word on that. It says on her site that she answers all her mail personally, and she went into detail about her current career as a member of Animal Defense League in Los Angeles. I realize that not all voice actors record their lines together, but somehow I doubt if an actor is bound to be unaware of who all was in an animated movie with them, and she really wasn't that young. She was fourteen. Certainly seems old enough to me. And I doubt if she would have simply said no he wasn't in the movie if she didn't know for certain. She might have said she didn't think so if she didn't, but she seemed to be pretty confident about it. Also, are you sure Reilly was listed in the credits on the VHS? I looked and did not see his name. And, as I mentioned before, the gander was not in the animated version.

Still, if you really want to make doubly sure, I believe Reilly has his own personal web site. You can always e-mail him and ask.
