Charlottes lullaby

Damn, i got this movie in a nostalgi flux.
Love this movie so damn much, so much personal memories...
Saw this movie as a kid maybe 30 times or so.
I had no problem to follow the lines and songs.
I think i loved Charlotte as my own mother when younger.

But OMG, i started to sob when that lullaby song "Charlottes web" was playing and Charlotte started her quest to save Wilburs life.
Why did i sob????
Ten this talkpaus...can it by heart

Templeton - What are u doing?
Charlotte - Working.
Templeton - Why so late?
Charlotte - I´ll be lucky if im finish by sun´up. Go to sleep Templeton.
Templeton - Good niiiight Charlotte.
Charlotte - Goodnight Templeton
...
And then the chour music starts again and so my sobbing.
This isent even the "sad" part of the movie, can someone explain this to me...
BTW, im 32 yrs, a life full of beatings, alcohol, drugs and lots of BAD things in life.
Do i miss my childhood? Do i know subconscious that Charlotte despais rescuing Wilbur will die at the autumn, knowing its just the way of the nature?????
Anone other who find this part kinda touchy?

How very special are we
To have a moment to be
Part of life's eternal rhyme

How very special are we
To have in our family tree
Mother Earth, and Father Time...

I too love this movie and always get choked up when I hear that lullaby. It is so touching about the fleeting nature of our lives. This movie will always be one of my favorites.

**dittoes**

I always thought the lyrics and the idea are so original for a child's film, they're really unexpected and sincere.

Plus, the harpsichord works fantastically.

I cry every time I see it.

Does anybody know where you could download it or something? I want that song so badly!

The problem with the future is that it keeps turning into the present.

God, I'm such a fricking baby. I just read those lyrics and my eyes welled up with tears. This was one of my favorite movies (if not THE favorite one) when I was growing up, and only that song when Charlotte died and "Feed the Birds, Tuppnce a Bag" from Mary Poppins have made me actually sob during a movie. I'm going on Amazon.com now. I need that CD.

I want the complete song myself. Tried to get it off limewire.... However, Instead of the original version from the movie, there are kids singing it. Grrr. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to buy the film. Crying just thinking about the song.

I sing this lullaby to myself nearly everyday. It helps keep me grounded and appreciative of life. Charlotte's Web is one of the most beautiful films ever made.

Very few movies have ever made me cry but when Wilbur learns that Charlotte too will die, for some reason, that makes me cry (I guess, like Bambi, one of the first movies to bring it home that you WILL lose people you love or they will lose you).

**Spoilers for other movies**

The other two movies that could make me cry are:

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, when Francie's father (played by the wonderful James Dunn) looks hurt at Katie (his wife) when she scolds him for drinking and not supporting the family, he runs out to wait in the cold to get a job and then he dies. It's funny but Francie's stone grief reaction was exactly how I reacted when my own father died 30 years later. It hurts too much too cry when you lose a noble father.

Black Hawk Down, which I refuse to watch because I know I would cry at the death and indignity those wonderful young men suffered due to botched military actions. I'm not saying that it was wrong to try to do something about the mess in Somalia but do it with some common sense and forethought for the protection of the forces before they are asked to put their lives on the line.

...especially this line in the song: "Sometimes when somebody loves you
Miracles somehow appear..."

"Let me explain how the chain of command works.I tell you what to do and you do it; end of chain!"
