Dolby Stereo?

This is an awesome movie, but compare the quality of the sound audio to Disney's Robin Hood (released the same year as this movie). The audio of this movie sounds very clear and quite modern for a 1973 film. But Robin Hood's audio sounds normal compared to this one. Which film's audio track do you think sounds newer/cleaner?

It's not always the age of a film that determines how good it sounds - it's the preservation techniques and the restoration/remastering techniques. Paramount tends to take good care of its older films, and they tend to end up sounding great in newer re-releases.

Disney's "Robin Hood" is among their lower-tier films produced during a low point in the studio's history, so it understandably does not sound (or look) its best.
