Does anyone not find this movie hilarious?

I'm not talking about the intentional humor but the whole goofiness of this movie makes me die laughing. From the insane dialogue of the animals to Wilbur's crazy insecurities and his constant threat of death, I can't stop chuckling. "I don't want to die, Charlotte!"

Then there's Templeton whom everyone treats like *beep* just because he's a rat. This farm society obviously has its "pecking order." There's a stuckup goose who can't spell to save her life "double I, double E, double R, double O..." What the hell is she spelling? And there's a bloodthirsty spider who eats these other bugs whom the director cleverly decided not to give voices. Could you imagine it? "AHHHH, PLEASE DON'T EAT ME CHARLOTTE!" What kind of effects would that have on kids?

Let's not forget how this "some pig" can do 360 vertical axis flips in the air. There's plenty of lunacy to go around in this movie.

You can't see me, but I'm shooting death stares at you.

I'm certain you laughed your way through "It's a wonderful life" and "Watership down" as well. Trolling Charlotte's Web is a sad pastime.

Well, you gotta admit, Wilbur is the biggest wuss of a protagonist in any movie. He's such a baby! My God man, if they have to break into song to get Wilbur to get his "chin up" (more like chins, heheh), Mr. White must've rolled in his grave I know it.

I like when Ferb cries after learning Wilbur is to be sold LOL! Also, when Wilbur finds out he'll be Christmas dinner and wails, "I don't wanna die!" Also when Wilbur finds out Charlotte's going to die and starts bawling, as well as when all the little spiders disappear, leaving him crying like a wuss.

Wow. What a sad, cruel little world you live in. Think about it if you were up against things that were going to eat YOU in 4 months when you've only been around for less than a year.

First of all, an animal is a living creature. It has feelings, and it has a soul. (Which makes me wonder about you) Therefore it can bond with a human. You're lucky you live in a civalized society, because if someone was to say to you after you have children "oh, they're getting too big, and we need the money, I'm selling them." Have a HEART, man.

Secondly, do you have any idea what it's like to watch someone you love die in front of you? If you have, I'm sure from your post that you were laughing the whole time.

Thirdly, you remind me of a school bully. You think crying over being abandoned when your only friend has just died and her children are leaving a wuss? Seriously, how many hugs did you get as a child? Not enough I'd assume. You have issues if you found any of the things you mention as "funny" or "amusing". Sounds to me like you have the personality makings of a sadist.

I watched this recently and during the scene where Wilbur tries to spin a web all I heard in my head was Homer Simpson singing "Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does - can he swing from a web" - and then Wilbur, of course, fails - "No he can't. He's a pig."

That scene then had me laughing so hard.

The OP is labelled a troll, but putting aside the sad elements in this movie such as death, the person might have found humour in how the lines were delivered.

Although we're touched by the story, I think there were people that still ate meat afterwards. Unless I didn't see a thread such as, "Did you become a vegetarian after watching this movie (or the 2005 version)?"

And people deal with death in different (and sometimes really screwed up) ways. I've been told that for Titanic, in that last scene in the ocean with Jack, there were people in the theatre that laughed. They could have been being jerks (after sitting through about 2 hours of a 3 hours movie and putting down $10-14 to see it), or it might have been that instead of reacting with sadness, they reacted with humour.

lol, did someone actually accuse the OP of living in a "sad, cruel little world" because they didn't get out of Charlotte's Web what they were "supposed" to? damn. lighten the hell up, people.

This is a children's film that's near and dear to many hearts.

I'm sure they don't appreciate someone telling them they found the film unintentionally "hilarious".

I mean, it's fine it you just DID (can't help that), but to get on the film's message board just to mock it, and in turn the people who love it? That's just being a dick.

Yes I found it very entertaining and a great piece of work. When I took my little brother to see this in 1973 I noticed there were just as many adults in the crowd as there were kids. Cartoon & animation haters don't realize there is a lot of adult humor & situations in these. With a top notch cast, this was a sure winner. Still watch my dvd often!

Lol I always found Wilbur to be an annoying wuss, even as a kid, and I always only really liked Templeton.

I just rewatched as an adult and those feelings were amplified. Wilbur cried and wailed over everything, and made everything about himself! He seemed very self-centered to me, yet for some reason Charlotte continued to stop heaven and earth to serve him. And why were they bashing the rat all the time? Why WAS he supposed to give a crap about the spider or Wilbur? Sorry that he actually had a life that didn't revolve around the almighty Wilbur...heaven forbid.

I understand where the OP is coming from. Still a good movie though!
