Song Lyrics

Is it just me, or do the songs in this movie (as well as other "childrens" movies) tend to have lyrics on the adult side? I don't know many young children who would know what "articulate" means. Heck, I know some adults who don't understand the word. It just seems to me that although the songs tend to have snappy tunes and upbeat themes, some of the lyrics are just too "grown up" for a 6 year old. Does anyone else agree?

Watching this movie taught me lots of new words. That is good.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

I agree, but for a different reason. I think there's something very adult about the song "Mother Earth and Father Time." When I was younger, I just thought it was a pretty song, but as an adult it reminds me that my relatives will one day pass on and so will I and how scary that can be, but that there's also beauty in life and the passage of time.

IMPO I thought all the songs lyrics in this classic animated masterpiece film
( made very well by memorable producers Hanna Barbera )
were quite brilliant indeed  .

I also agree with posters MetFanMac and jarethismyking
this film does have an " adult edge " to it
but in a constructive
learning manner that remains with us
from childhood and forever into our adult years as well
( truly a wonderful & unforgettable film ! )    .

Thanks so much duchessis for your subject post  .
