"you fools!"

the new dvd release of this looks freaking amazing, they have put alot of work into it, and it was promising that the movie involved the same person behind jekyll and hyde, and also the twilight zone connection, palance is the most natural intimidating looking dracula even before the make-up, and it has amazing photography and locations, makes one happy its in colour, spoiler, i don't know if its because of palance performance, but for the first time, even though its dracula himself, you really felt sorry for him when he lost lucy, i was just blown away by palance's convincing performance in this and look at that agony in his face when the sunlight struck him by the end. i thought draculas love story became more effect full in this since the girl was closer to his own age than the usual 20 year old. this was the most moving version i've seen and it also says its closest to the original, i felt like i didn't want this to end. i got this and the 70's frankenstein (featured in elvira's thrillervideo) at the same day without knowing it was made by the same person.

lost my castle standing on the dark outside of the gate,
my treasures and maids just a memory on my escape,
my fate ended up in barbarians,
im rootless now,
drifting under the grey sky,
setting a fire to keep warm between the pines,
haunts my memory of you at open plains,
before vanishing deep into the forest driven away from my castle gates.
