Reading through these posts, Im starting to get it, but...

...but I wish they wouldve made it clearer. For instance, I thought that the body being dragged from the water was Julie Christies character and then when it couldntve been I forgot about it. If they wouldve dragged out a body that didnt look like one of the characters then I wouldve put it together better

Also the fact that the serial killer was dressing up as a child couldve been clearer because I was wondering how the serial killer knew about their little girl wearing red and further more, why he/she wanted to kill Sutherlands character.

I really liked the movie but the ending was dissapointing because I didnt understand it.

If you liked the experience of watching it but didn't understand everything fully on the first viewing then it is the perfect opportunity to rewatch and get a little more on a second viewing. It does lack clarity but that's what makes it worth revisiting. I've seen it maybe 5 or 6 times and come away with a slightly different intrepretation each time.
