How can this bore someone?

This film draws you into it's world so that by the time you get to the end, it's like you lived it. I suppose some of our more easily distracted viewers could get a little fidgety...
And yet people are not bored by the endless CGI battles in 3 plus hour slogs like The Hobbit? I'm confused!

I adore this film and I have done since I first saw it 14 years ago. I don't understand how anyone could get bored either. Creepy, moving and tragic all at the same time.

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

As others said it is an acquired taste as are all arthouse films, I've studied some of daphne du maurier's work in college and it defo is not for everybody. I suppose her books/films like the birds and Rebecca are easier to understand and more enjoyable but DLN is deeper and a lot of people would not get it nor appreciate it. Again this is an arthouse type of film and these type of movies will never appeal to a mass audience remember nor are they designed to be. I had several modules on arthouse films throughout college and believe me this film is mild compared to some of the other stuff we watched which had the whole class completely confused, bored and baffled over what they had just seen.

Don't you know if it's "Arthouse" and you don't like it that means you are automatically worthless and will never be enough of a hipster to cut it in film snob circles

Assume nothing; Question everything

Yes, why would an hour and fifty minutes of extremely slow moving scenes, 10 minutes of which at most are relevant, which only serve to set up a few seconds long jump scene, be boring?

It is one of those films where you only get out what you put in. If you don't give it your full attention then much of it will go over your head.
