Starts out strong but the conspiracy element does not pay off.

It makes a great tagline but for some reason, assassination by dolphin is not as interesting as it should be. Scott's acting is not bad though and his wife playing his wife in the movie is a knockout.

Agreed. A lot of good things in the film, but the ending was very abrupt. George C Scott should have been less passive, and kicked more ass.

But still a good effort by Nichols, even though he always referred to it as "that fish movie".

It's weird enough to talk about, but I can't quite recommend it.

I like it enough to recommend it, but I do agree that it doesn't quite gel as it should. Still, some good performances & ideas in there, enough to keep me interested. I only wish it had been a little tighter.

And some really impressive shots with the dolphins. How they got all those perfectly timed shots with the actors and dolphins is beyond me.

I think Roger Ebert got it right when he wrote: "The material might have been better suited for a less ambitious director"

I agree with you & Roger!
