My friends and I were saying "Bitchin" in the mid 1960s, and it might have been even older. My dad says that "Fuckin' A" was an expression in the 1940s.

Where I lived in southern California in the '60s, there was also the variation "twitchin'".

It was still used heavily in the 80s when my friends & I did tricks on our BMX bikes. People threw that word around alot during that time as an alternative to radical or awesome.
