Jill, ever the greedy one

She's always got her hand out, whether its a lover, someone elses husband, a new found daddy or sister. I wish Kay Chancellor was here to remind her that the only work she has ever done has been on her back!

reply

Jill did use men, and husbands, but unlike Kay she actually worked for her money. She valued her career. Kay MURDERED a man to get control of Chancellor Industries and the mansion. She ws no angel.

Jill grew up poor as dirt as Foster while Lauren grew up in luxury. Why should Jill get 50% of her birthright? It's hardly Jill's fault that being a Fenmore was kept from her. This is the Fenmores fault. Lauren shouldn't begrudge her sister.

reply

except that jill and lauren being sisters is a retcon. And i'm hoping they're going to eventually back away from the stupidity of this story.

reply

I agree. Jill and Lauren--sisters? It's an awful, desperate concept. Who thought of it?

reply

MAB of course. Most of her ideas were crap.

reply

It's a ret-con but so is so much else. Dylan, Devon as Kay's grandson, Tucker etc.

We have to accept it as fact unless they ret-con the ret-con. As far as Jill/Lauren and everybody in GC, they are sisters.

reply

They plan to retcon the retcon in the Lauren Jill fiasco. I read that somewhere.

reply

Maybe this latest spat with them will reveal they never really were sisters. If the writers could figure out a way to make Jill a bio-Foster again, however unbelievable, and then leave her parentage alone, I would be totally fine with it!

reply

I never liked them as sisters either. Would like it if Lauren could tell her to get lost.

reply

You read correctly. Sally Sussman's comment in the TV Guide interview:

[INTERVIEWER] Ditto when they made Jill and Lauren sisters—an idea that went absolutely nowhere.

[SUSSMAN] That’s also something I’m choosing to ignore and will probably negate at some point. It makes no sense. It was completely physically impossible! I wrote for the show back when Jim Storm was playing Lauren’s father—I named him after my friend, Neil—and the character was the same age as Jill so how could he possibly be her father? I just don’t know how they spun that.

reply

Well if Lauren's father was suppose to be the same age as Jill then they really messed that one up. I wasn't really paying much attention to Y&R in the mid-80s so I don't know the age difference between Neil Fenmore and Lauren. I'm guessing he was in his middle ages back then like he could've been Jill's older brother but definitely not her father.

THANK GOODNESS!!

do hope so!

I'm really hoping the current writers will find a way to reverse Jill being Lauren's Sister. I have watched this show from Day 1, and I remember Lauren's Father, and the unique and very close relationship she had with him as an only child...and her wanting to desperately save her family's business makes sense, and it doesn't need someone like Jill in the middle, especially since I hate Jess Walton as Jill, but in this case it wouldn't matter who was playing Jill. Jill is self serving and greedy and is making this about her, without an ounce of compassion for what this would mean to Lauren, who actually had a close relationship with her Father, unless that is really the root of her anger.. The whole rewrite of Jill not being a Foster, and ending up being the daughter of Neil Fenmore is utterly ridiculous!!
