Unpretentious Movie!

What I really loved about this movie is that it didn't have a soundtrack of funny music when things would happen. Not even in the famous car chase scenes. You can hear this sort of elevator-cocktail music in the background which was realistic because in those days it was played in elevators and lounge areas. Plus I liked the rythym of the dialouge, silent gaps, facial expressions.

In other words, you think this is a perfect movie, and I couldn't agree more. I still laugh as loud at it as I did back in 1972.

No good....lousy - - a BEAST! OUT!!!!

Let's see...when I was in 5th grade my class went to see this movie as an example of SLAPSTICK COMEDY!!!! It remains, to this day, one of my favorite movies, DESPITE Barbara Streisand who was only slightly annoying in the lead.

I'm a few years late with the answer, but the elevator music is Cole Porter. I think all the music in the film is. And it's one of my favorites too.
