The swinging kitchen door: Does this count as a goof 2
When the mass brawl is going in at Larrabee's mansion, a waiter emerges through the swinging kitchen doors, carrying a tray of drinks. He immediately turns on his heel to go back into the kitchen but walks into the door and the drinks smash.
There was something about it that told me it was a goof that they left in. We cut away just as the waiter/actor reacts to the drinks smashing, very much as though it wasn't supposed to happen. My theory is that it was an affectionate nod to that oft-used trope with the swinging door where someone emerges, sees trouble and, without breaking stride, goes smoothly back into the kitchen. This version of it subverted that, with the glases flying everywhere. Thinking about it that way made it all the funnier for me. If it was planned that way I'm sure the camera would have lingered on the waiter a little longer but, as I said, they cut away very abruptly just as he seems about to say "*$!@ it!"
