Just caught up with this gem after 40 years or so on Film 4 - saw it first as a young kid. Once I warmed to it again it had my crying with laughter just like I did in 1972. The car chase scene is a classic.

I agree. still makes me laugh 40 years on. the courtroom scene is my favourite part.

It owes a lot to the deft acting by the leads. O'Neal showed a very light touch with his character portrayal.

I agree. This movie is so much better than any comedy I've seen in the last 10 years.
