Every cartoon/comic dog being sentient makes no sense

What is Snoopy, exactly?

We know he's supposed to be a beagle, but beagles don't play war games with their dog houses, they don't sleep on the sharp, pointy bit of the roof of their dog houses, they don't use a boxing glove to punch people with their nose - AND SO ON.

Snoopy clearly isn't a dog, because although he's supposed to be, he doesn't act, behave or even look like a dog. He walks on two legs instead of four, he can howl, but rarely barks, he doesn't react to things the way a dog would and exhibits SO many 'human characteristics', that even the other kids sometimes think he's just a big-nosed human being.

The problem is, he's not really a human, either - he doesn't go to school, he doesn't have any kind of 'kid life', no 'kid friends' he would visit, he doesn't live inside, but outside, he has a dog house, he eats from a dog food bowl and so on.

So what is he? It makes no sense no matter how you spin it, because a being like that simply can't really exist in a normal world that's depicted in these cartoons and things.

It's like NO ONE, as in 'absolutely NO ONE that makes these famous cartoons/comic strips' has the guts, balls, courage, bravery to make an actual DOG.

No cartoon dog is a normal or even 'abnormal' dog. There are no actual dogs in these franchises, no matter how much you look, and EVERY 'dog' is some kind of weird human-dog-alien-monster-creature hybrid at best.

Let's check some of these:

- Pluto (can think and reason, can make plans, can lie, and so on - he's as 'dog' as it gets in Duckburg (Goofy is a more sentient one), but still not quite a dog)

- Dogbert (this little guy has never even looked like a dog, has he ever even walked on fours instead with two legs? He seems to have opposable thumb, he wears eyeglasse, he has conversations with Dilbert, he plans world domination (and often succeeds, just to give it up for some reason and 'retire' or some other BS that 'resets' the situation, as comics have to do or jokes would stop working)..

- Odie (yeah, he schemes, walks on hind legs, you name it - sure, he's 'stupid' enough to almost seem like an actual animal at times, but when you look at ALL the things he has done over the years, he's clearly not a dog, either)

- Snorkel's 'dog' (forgot his name) wears actual human clothes (probably the most blatant one this way), actually SPEAKS (even if he mumbles, he gets the intonation perfect), says 'Bye bye' while waving (this happens frequently), eats and drinks like a human being (drinking with a STRAW), and so on.

Anyone thinking this guy is an actual dog is either insane or has never seen a real dog.

Why don't these people have the guts to make an ACTUAL dog, ever? It's ALWAYS this weird human-dog-hybrid that is SUPPOSED to be a dog, but does so many human things, you have to wonder why they didn't make this character fully human anyway! It's always this odd hybrid-thing that you can't classify, because they're WAY too human to be a dog, but then have to sleep in a dog house and can't QUITE do all the things humans do, so they are too 'dog' to be fully human, too...

I don't get it, why this 'hybrid' instead of a realistic dog? It wouldn't even have to be -that- realistic. Snoopy started out as a 'real dog', but quickly devolved into this 'hybrid crap', as if there's some magnet in the comic/cartoon universe that keeps pulling every dog until they reach this 'hybrid orbit', where they settle for the rest of their existence.

Why can't a dog be a dog? Why do they have to be sentient? Are these people afraid that since people tend to humanize and antropomorphize their pets (without any good reason), which then leads to huge amount of awful problems (as you can see from 'Dog Whisperer', 'Cesar 911', 'Better Human, Better Dog', etc.)...

..that people would get angry, if they depicted an animal as an actual animal?

They have no problems depicting other animals as animals (at least sometimes), like a bear or a moose, giraffe or an elephant, but a dog (or even cat) just _HAS_ to be sentient for some reason, they can't let it be 'just a dog'.

Wouldn't this be REFRESHING change? I guess it would be as refreshing as if these Al Lowe-type idiots would stop thinking they can turn Larry into a Patti and call it a day, or Austin Powers into Felicia Shagwell and call it a day, because it's the same, right? Just changing genders, which is a GREAT idea...

... NOT.

I am just so tired as to how cliché-, and formula-based EVERYTHING in this world seems to be that people create.. or 'create'.

I am not even going to venture into 'Scooby-Doo' side, but you can probably find 20 other comic/cartoon dogs/cats/pets/animals that are, for no reason, stupidly 'sentient' without being granted 'full human status' anyway. Even when the pets are more intelligent than their 'owners'... sigh.

Why is everything trash..? Why doesn't anything make sense? Couldn't there be just ONE artist that dares to rise against the 'hybrid-sentience'?

BEWARE! Avortac4 is a troll trying to waste everyone's time with such idiotic comments. Look at his posts. He doesn't think anything in any film makes sense. His post may seem like it makes sense in the first sentence or two. But he always quickly wanders off into a completely idiotic idea, and then writes a wall of text that makes no sense. And his sole purpose is to waste your time, thinking he's cute for doing so. Don't feed the troll. If you write a comment, you're giving this troll EXACTLY what he wants. Don't comment after my comment.
