So it goes... ;)

RIP Kurt

Actually, when I read the article, I was in a sense relieved for Vonnegut. It turns out that he suffered severe brain damage from a fall a few weeks ago, and given his support of doctor assisted suicide, I'm sure that the last thing that he would have wanted was to go on living as a mental and physical invalid.

However, Vonnegut's death leaves us with an even more meager pool of talented living writers, even if he did "retire" from fiction writing years earlier.

So it goes,

Perhaps one of the best authors of all time...

In times of mediocrity his poignant wit and incisive look into the mysteries and strengths of the human soul, let alone quality writing, his passing is a great loss to us all. We'll miss you, man.

Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

RIP Kurt Vonnegut

reply

Yes, I miss Him too. Some piece in my inner heart is dead. I don't know why, 'couse I'm in Hungary, and naturally I never met him, but He was one of those who opened my eyes to this world of blue and I think He had some power to stand alive. Maybe He is in Tralfamadore now.
So it goes.

Goodbye, Mr. Vonnegut

reply

Well, if his fictional writing actually does reflect on his personal thoughts and feelings he has towards this complicated reality we call life, then i guess he's still alive somewhere... sometime.

RIP Kurt, and thanks for making my english classes interesting.
