Does anyone know who did the voice of the Tralfamadorian? Is sounds very familiar - a bit like Sydney Poitier (but it isn't).

Sounded more like the HAL 9000 to me, but that wasn't it either.

I asked the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

There were a LOT of uncredited roles in this movie in addition to the voice and so far I haven't found any. A few to name:

Billy's father
Billy as a 5 year old
the corporal that deserts them
various German soldiers
the doctor in the hospital
the airplane pilot
the man in the Mercedes that crashes into Valencia

Having watched it last night I thought maybe George Carlin. But I'm only guessing.

THat is the voice of the director, GEORGE ROY HILL.

You are correct. I worked on the film and it was George Roy Hill.
