Uncredited Vonnegut cameo?

When Billy is in the hospital he has a roommate who's writing a book on WW2 and doesn't want to hear Billy's account of the Dresden bombing because it might be contrary to his views. Was he portrayed by Vonnegut? He kind of looked like him.

That's John Dehner (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0215000/) as Prof. Rumfoord, with Gilmer McCormick (of Godspell) as Lily Rumfoord.

In the book Kurt Vonnegut says that he was the patient in the bed next to Billy Pilgim.

No. KV says that he was the man in the toilet next to Billy.

In the audio version of the book there is an interview with Vonnegut at the end. In it he says he was in two scenes in the movie but the director cut both scenes out of the final version of the movie.
