can anyone tell me...

what the old man says in German after he slaps Billy? It's the scene where the Americans are being marched through the street and the children are playing around Billy.

reply

I have the same question.

reply

I know German a little, He was basically complaining that they're in the middle of a war and Billy making a mockery of them with his jacket and the kids around him.

reply

I assume the old guy figured Billy purposely dressed in a woman's coat and silver boots cause he was gay and flamboyant.

>O Stands For Osom (awesome) ~ New York<

reply

Nah it was that he was not taking the war seriously. When in fact Billy was just trying to stay warm.

reply

Yeah, I tghink I remeber reading that in the book.

reply

All that I can make out is his saying "Glauben Sie das... " which means "Do you
believe that...", and clearly it is accusatory here.
