American Cinematheque Screening on March 12th...

Just to post here...I attended another screening of "The Mechanic" put on as part of a Michael Winner film special.

It was at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. And, as always, it was great to see "The Mechanic" with Charles Bronson on the big screen. As I found out about this screening at the last moment, I basically just left my home in time to show up and see it.

The real surprise was that Michael Winner (the film's director) was there and was interviewed by American Cinematheque and then did a Q&A with members of the audience. He was so gracious and eloquent. Also in attendance and introduced were Richard Kline the director of photography and Linda Ridgeway, the actress who portrayed "Louise"...Steve McKenna's (Jan Michael Vincent) girlfriend

I had a chance to say hello to all 3 of them and let them know how much I have enjoyed this film

I did see the remake, and as lackluster as it is ..it did achieve what I always knew it would..it has sparked a new interest in the original version of "The Mechanic" and ultimately made a night like the one I was a part of and enjoyed so much.

I's love to hear back from anyone else who was lucky enough to be there for this screening !!

I wish I had known about this. I definitely would have attended. Did you learn anything interesting from the Q&A session? I had always hoped they would release a director's commentary on a dvd version.
