i picked this up thinking it'd be just another 70s bronson vigilante film cause it was directed by michael winner but it was a lot more interesting then that. more character driven then some action pieces.
shareI can understand why you would say this, those two films are probably his best and its hard to place which is number one. But I would have to disagree with you. Death Wish was the right movie at the right time. The Mechanic is a movie that can be done again, but something like Death Wish could only be done in the 1970s in NYC. These days the whole mugging apsect is a little different and plus movies today are more careful with certain race issues.
