Sadie jumping into the pool

Okay, after Sadie escapes from Mrs. Collingwood, she runs and suddenly jumps into a large underground pool. I don't understand why she did that. How could she not know the pool was cold? I just don't understand the point of her doing that.

It was supposed to be night time and she runs into the pool as it is dark, lol. Many of the scenes were shot "night for day" where it is actually day time and they darken the lens so it "looks" like night but easier to see but it is horribly unrealistic (a technique done in the 70s but this was a really low budget).

I don't think she was paying any attention. Her only thought was to try and save herself and wasn't looking where she was going.

I wondered about that, too - didn't think of the "cold" aspect. It wasn't until Weasel asked Estelle what she was doing up "so late" that I realized it was still supposed to be nighttime, and dark. Sure didn't look like it!

I wondered how a knife slice across the *mouth* could have immediately incapacitated her; she seemed way too tough for that!

she actually slashed her throat area, probably hit the jugular
watch in stop action
probably the blood squirted all over her face, as she fell back
