Used to hate it

Battle Of The Planets was on all the time when I was a kid.It suffered from over exposure. Now I'm interested in it again.Apparently a movie is on the way.Hope it isn't like the Power Rangers.

Hi all!

Sadly, the film is not to be. Following the box office failure of Astro Boy, Imagi, the studio that was going to make the movie, went bankrupt. Imagi has since crawled back from the grave, but they announced that they were going to focus on domestic Chinese properties, and that Gatchaman (Along with everything else Imagi previously had in the pipeline) was officially dead.

It also suffered from intense editing and all new stories that hardly reflect the content of the actual series. If you haven't, get your hands on the DVDs released a few years back. The whole show is available, and you can choose between subtitles with the original Japanese cast, or the new dubbed version that managed to stay remarkably true to the series for a change.

But yes, you can kiss the movie goodbye. It never happened and is now just stuck in development hell. It most likely never will happen.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

At least we are going to get a live action version next summer and MAYBE a new animated feature.
