How "Italian" would Sonny/Fredo/Michael look to people from Italy?

I grew up in an Italian/Jewish neighborhood, and while all the white folks kind of look the same to me LOL, I found that Jews and Italians look a lot alike. I don't recall any of them being Sicilian though.

In fact, an old joke in Hollywood was that Indians were mostly portrayed in Westerns by Italians and Jews.

From where I sit, maybe only Sonny looked less Italian than Michael or Fredo, if that's a thing, particularly since Vito was from Sicily. I don't know where Vito's wife was from, but if she was more Northern, then Sonny's light complexion wouldn't be abnormal.

BTW, I answered this because I don't know of any native Italians read this board.

I recommend watching the episode "commandatore!" from The Sopranos when Tony, Christopher and Paulie visit Napoli to do business with the mafia boss there. It does a hilarious job showing the culture clash between American Italians and native Italians. It shows how much things change over a couple of generations.

Michael and Fredo would look a lot like Al Pacino and John Cazale, who if IMDB's bios are accurate, have full Italian ancestry and half-Italian, half-Irish ancestry respectively. Sonny would be an oddity, but not all Italians have jet-dark hair. In the book, Carlo's hair is blond, and the actor who played him had brown hair.

But there's something about being an American that makes one stand out when overseas. I'm not saying that in a good way or in a bad way. I'm just saying that we can't fake being not American. It's something about the way we make eye contact, our gestures, et cetera. Also our manners. We tend to invite people to call us by our first names almost immediately, for example. We think that's being friendly, but some find it overly familiar.

So how would they look? Like tourists.
