The Godfather Legacy: The Corleone Family Today

Wonder what's going on with the Corleone Empire in present day 2017. Or rather what has transpired between the end of The Godfather Part III and now and if it's a tale worth telling. Are they as powerful as they used to be? Are they still a crime syndicate or have they gone legit? Has the family broken up and withered away with the times?

With Vincent being the Don I can't see the Corleone Family lasting long.

True. Vincent was too much like Sonny and despite Coppola insisting he had both Vito & Michael's brains, I simply didn't see it.

The Mafia was going out by the 70s, Michael was right in trying to legitimize the family. Getting them back in would destroy the family like other crime sindicates were.

I'd love to see a film showing that. Vincent would probably be in his 60's or 70's and could still feasibly still be in power.

The elderly Michael passed his essence on to the small dog that was loitering around his chair at the end of Godfather, Part III. The dog becomes his successor, and the next film in the series will be called The Dogfather, Part I.
