did anyone else think of this movie when they watched no country for old men? i mean i know they are two completely different stories, but i couldnt stop thinking about steve mcqueenin this movie whenever i saw josh brolin
When I re-watched The Getaway the other night, the scene when Rudy goes into the hardware store to buy supplies for the heist reminded me of the legendary scene in NCFOM when Bardem's character goes into the store and you just KNOW he's going to kill the guy - -but doesn't. (The Getaway scene also has a great line. When the clerk asks him what he wants all that stuff for -- flashlight, batteries, rope etc. -- and Rudy says he's going on a picnic.)
"I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork. How've you been?"
I hadn't thought of that scene, but you're right. I was thinking of the hotel shoot-outs in both movies being pretty similar, but thanks for showing that other comparison!
