This movie gets a much better than average star rating, has a good plot, some great actors, and stands up a lot better than many other films of its era. It's not the best movie ever, but its certainly a 3 out of 4 star film.
So why list a review totally panning the film as the user comment? Sure, the film has its weaknesses, but you'd think it was Gigli from the user comment.

Just reviewed the film this weekend. Just splendid. Seems getting better (as I´m getting older, I'm afraid).
I'll go with mobocrazy here. There are at least 86 million billion worse movies than this. I have watched this at least 7 times and everytime it only gets better. And I have never watched to the end the 1994 made cheap copy of this movie. It's a crap that raped the original totally.

Where has this guy been all those years that McQueen, Ali McGraw and Ben Johnson were acting circles around Struthers? I'm willing to give him some slack and say that he must just not know any better, but he needs to wake up and do some viewing of these other talented actors' film resumes.
shareYou have to give Sally some credit; All in the Family was a *breakthrough* series, even if her role was a supporting one. She didn't do much more than this, but her role in "The Getaway" wasn't bad.
I think she lost most of her acting credibility when she gained a bunch of weight and started shilling for charity.
I'm not sure I'd say "supporting" it was more like en ensemble show, no?

It was an ensemble show, and she was very good on it. One reason she might have porked up so much is because she's extremely short from what I remember. She played such an unlikable character in The Getaway, and also in Five Easy Pieces as one of Jack's "pieces".
