Influence on The House By The Cemetery?
It used to be frustrating to watch Raw Meat/Death Line, because the prints they used for TV screenings in the 1990s were just so dark and it was hard to make anything out, fortunately the copies that are around today seem much clearer. The last time I watched it, on Plex, it occurred to me that it possibly influenced The House By The Cemetery, especially those lengthy scenes of the decaying corpses and the weird whimpering and crying that Dr. Freudstein did in the cellar. An aspect to Freudstein that always stood out to me as odd, why is he so damned emotional, when he is a sociopath who thought nothing of murdering his own wife and child, but it sort of makes sense if Fulci took that idea from Death Line, which has a far more sympathetic underground dweller.
