Death Line UK Update (Includes ITV4 Showing)

I've been checking the BBFC website and "Death Line" hasn't been submitted for reclassification since 1996 (the Carlton Video release version). Before a region 2 DVD release can happen, Carlton or MGM or whoever owns the UK rights will have to resubmit the movie.

The various versions purporting to be 'region 2' which have been popping up on Ebay appear to be either repackaged bootlegs of the region 1 MGM release or home-made DVD-recordings of the Carlton VHS.

I've got the region 1 disc but would be quite happy to pick up a subsequent official region 2 release if it was produced by Carlton from the same version used on their '96 VHS. The picture quality isn't that brilliant but it does have the original UK 'X' certificate at the beginning of the movie which I find is well worth the money.

For UK viewers with cable, satellite or freeview, "Death Line" is being shown tonight (4/2/06) on ITV4 at 22.00. Set your timers now!

Death Line is being released on region 2 by Network on 3rd April 06.

Ian Berriman, you sure you're not thinking of a different film with the same title, made in 1997?

This was the only Deathline, Region 2 I was able to find on Play.com.

Ian's right enough. The BBFC listed a re-certification for Death Line a few weeks after my initial post regarding the ITV4 showing (20/3/06).

The DVD can be found on Play.com -

The cover is a bit dodgy but that's a minor quibble. And as Ian correctly mentioned earlier, it's been released by Network. This is a good sign for it being the original Carlton print as Network have been putting out the old Carlton Home Video product on DVD for some time now. Can anyone who has purchased the region 2 disc confirm the content and quality?
