The Girl who played Pat was Absolutely Gorgeous!

The girl who played Pat (Sharon Gurney) was absolutely beautiful, don't ya think? I especially like her haircut... looks damn hot on a chick. Anyone knows what's its called? Damn I wish girls today have cute haircuts like that lol.

Anyway, regarding the film, don't you think it's kinda dumb how two "New York students" have British accents?

reply

People can pick up accents if they live somewhere for long enough. But yeah, see your point! :D

reply

I think she is supposed to be British, its only the boyfriend who is American. Thats why they argue about what to do when they find Manfred's body, with him saying that those sort of things happen all the time in New York.

reply

Yes she was gorgeous! And that haircut... it was the first thing I noticed.

What about Donald Pleasance? His faux cockney accent was brilliant!

Ian Faith: "*beep* the napkin!"

reply

Her haircut was popular in the early 70s.
It's called a "shag" hair style
I think Jane Fonda had a variation of it in Klute.

I went to high school during this period of time, and I never saw such a bad "shag" haircut as on the girl in this film. It looks like the hair stylist started it a few different times and couldn't make up her mind which way to do it.

And regarding the accents: they definitely made it clear that the girl was British and the guy was American. He makes several comments about NYC and Chicago. When he talks about ignoring bums in the subway in NYC, she says "That's not how we do it here."

reply

She looks like Sienna Miller a bit.
