Is Peppermint patty a lesbian?
shareI was coming on here to propose the very same question! I watched it last night and determined a resounding yes...very clearly. She looks like a dude, she dresses like a dude, she plays baseball, she has a lipstick lesbo pal in Marcy to counter her butchness and she makes call her "Sir", although Marcy knows her real name is Priscilla, which shocks others. This demonstrates that Marcy is very close to Peppermint Patty as they are more than likely married. Also PP doesn't have a mother figure. And she has a superficial "crush" on Charlie Brown which serves several functions...to hide the fact she is a dyke, to tease Charlie Brown as he is the first person that wouldn't have a girlfriend. As a metter of fact she is an overbearing bull dyke that probably ties Marcy up a lot.
Oh no! We broke Mom's favorite vase playing basketball in the house!

Lol,don't get me wrong I love Charlie Brown and the gang.Yeah,Peppermint Patty is an overbearing bull dyke,LMAO.
shareIn "There's No Time for Love, Charlie Brown", she told Marcie, "Stop calling me 'Sir'!" ~ so I think it's Marcie who chooses to call her "Sir".
Eight divided by one-half equals four squared!
I don't know if they meant her to be a lesbian or not but there are many reasons to make one believe that. However, I doubt Marcy was her lover lol. Maybe Charles knew a lesbian or something and put Peppermint Patty in as a shout out to her? Who knows lol but it's not a stretch to think she could be a lesbian. But I don't know, the cartoon was just innocent more than anything so maybe she was just supposed to be a tomboy? Regardless people are going to come on here and say we're looking too much into it.

According to the comics, no she isn't. In fact the running gag of the series was the unrelenting crush she had on Charlie Brown who never really returned the favor. That was the main issue in the Thanksgiving Day special. She was expecting Charlie Brown to do something for her for Thanksgiving dinner and invited herself over when in reality, Charlie Brown was supposed to go to his grandmother's for dinner.
The whole lesbian issue was more of the media's take on the character... like Ernie and Bert.
Is that a hobbit over there?
Nah, that's a hobo and a rabbit, but they're making a hobbit.
Does anyone remember the character on SNL Pat? That is who Peppermint Patty reminds me of,lol.
shareI thought that was common knowledge. :)
But no, I don't think Charles Schultz purposely made Patty a lesbian, I think she's more of a tomboy. I guess girls can't be tomboys in this day and age. But he's a real Chrisitan dude, I don't think he'd put a gay character in there, his cartoons are high on traditional hetro values.
It is fun, however, to imagine Patty gay and in a relationship with Marcie, just like Batman and Robin or Ernie and Bert. Or the guys in Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.
Patty's real name is NOT Priscilla. Marcie was alluding to the story of Priscilla Mullens, Miles Standish, and John Alden. However, referring to Patty as Priscilla by that logic was still inaccurate because with the gender roles reversed, Charlie Brown would be Priscilla.
Perhaps Patty and Marcie wanted a three-way.
PALIN in 2012, bitches!
It's hard to tell. They never show Peppermint Patty having sex with a girl or a boy.
