sharewhat was the name of the muscial piece which plays in the background in much of this film?
shareI'm also trying to find the soundtrack. I know the composer is Carlo Rustichelli. If you manage to find the Mp3 for the main theme, please tell me at [email protected], I will appreciate it.
I just love this movie and that theme
Regards
César
Ok, I found it and already downloaded it. The main theme is also a song fron Gino Paoli named Senza Fine. I don't know why but apparently the music is from Carlo rustichelli and the song is by Gino Paoli
Good luck in your search
If I remember correctly (I saw the film a long time ago) the song played by the orchestra on the dinner scene is "Un'ora sola ti vorrei".
shareThe music was also playing throughout scene 76 in Wendell's room to the end when he and Pamela kiss. Do you know where I could find a recording or how to track one down. It seems to be listed fleetingly as popular music on the web.

Definetly, the title song is: "SENZA FINE".
It's sung also in the next films:
"The flight of the Phoenix" (First version)
"Ghost ship`" (in the main sequence)
I think that the main songs are "Senza fine" and "Un'ora sola ti vorrei". They probably have been chosen for the meanings of their words.
SENZA FINE
Senza fine
trascini la nostra vita
senza un attimo di respiro
per sognare
per potere ricordare
ciò che abbiamo già vissuto
senza fine
sei un attimo senza fine
non hai ieri non hai domani
tutto è ormai nelle tue mani
mani grandi mani senza fine
non m'importa della luna
non mi importa delle stelle
tu per me sei luna e stelle
tu sei per me sei sole e cielo
tu per me sei tutto quanto
tutto quanto voglio avere
senza fine
sei un attimo senza fine
non hai ieri non hai domani
tutto è ormai nelle tue mani
mani grandi mani senza fine
.....
non m'importa della luna
non mi importa delle stelle
tu per me sei luna e stelle
tu sei per me sei sole e cielo
tu per me sei tutto quanto
tutto quanto voglio avere
senza fine
Senza fine ("without an end") is about a man who tells his woman that thay have no past nor future, but she's a moment without time and without end.
Un'ora sola ti vorrei
Fedora Mingarelli
Bertini - Marchetti
(1938)
Io che non so scordarti mai
per te darei la vita mia
per dirti quello che non sai...
Un'ora sola ti vorrei
io che non so scordarti mai
per dirti ancor nei baci miei
che cosa sei per me.
Un'ora sola ti vorrei
per dirti quello che non sai
ed in quest'ora donerei
la vita mia per te.
Io non vedo il mondo
quando penso a te
vedo gli occhi tuoi nei miei.
Ma se non mi vuoi
non è niente, sai,
la vita mia per me.
Un'ora sola ti vorrei
io che non so scordarti mai
per dirti ancor nei baci miei
che cosa sei per me.
ed in quest'ora donerei
la vita mia per te.
Un'ora sola ti vorrei ("I just want you for an hour), talks abuot a lover who tell tha man she loves (he doesn't know of her love) that would like to stay with him only for an hour to tell him what are her feelings for him.
So, you see, they're very good for this movie!
In 1966 it was turned into a big top 40 hit by "The Brass Ring" and titled "The Phoenix Love Theme" - from the Jimmy Stewart film "The Flight of the Phoenix". The slower version is found throughout "Avanti."
Btw, "Senza Fine" means "Without End" - referring to love, a fitting idea for Avanti, as the love of the parents moves on to the next generation.
Senza Fine was written by Campos Cesarea and Gino Paoli, it was used in the original Flight OF The Phoenix movie(1965)by the Brass Ring, also in Billy Wilder's 1972 movie Avanti by Carlo Rustichelli. Boz Skaggs recently recorded it in his new 2008 album Speak Low. Classic and beautiful.
