Crackerjack cop thriller

Despite not seeing this for nearly 3 years, I have great memories of this. The acting was totally solid, with Anthony Quinn and Yaphet Kotto shining in their roles, but I ended up rooting for the Paul Benjamin character, especially in the end when he takes on both the mob and the cops. Barry Shear had a talent for ferocious action, as he also showed in the Starsky & Hutch pilot ep.

On an interesting note, this was produced by Fouad Said who also did the private eye thriller Hickey & Boggs.

i liked the movie very much, it had a gritty sense of realism of what a cops and robbers movie should be.
