Is this movie BLAXPLOITATION

..
What I mean is it like "Superfly", "Cleopatra Jones", "Balck Caesar" , "Foxy Brown", "Coffee"(one of my fav's)

OR IS IT

like A REAL MOVIE.

Cause since I saw it has Poiter and QUINN.

Is it "campy" like the ohters, with ABSURD completely non PC dialogues..

Or is ACROSS 110th SCREEN more structured like "Shaft"

It's not like any of those other films--all of whom I like, except for COFFY--and they are all REAL films,BTW---this is a hardcore, realistic, serious drama that looks at corruption within the police department and the criminal element in N.Y. in the early '70's. The 3 brothers robbing the Mafia is only the tip of the iceberg---it gets into all the complications, rivalries and racial tensions running beneath the surface that get set off as a result of that. A complex,action-packed excellent film that tends to get overlooked as the '70's classic it is because it's gotten dumped under the "blaxsploitation" label---just got it myself--and very much worth watching---dark,tough, and gritty with a brutal, downbeat '70's ending, of course.

Here's a good podcast about blaxploitation, which mentions the film:
