I own a costume from this movie!

This past spring, I was browsing ebay looking for the souvenir program from the original Broadway show in 1969. However, I came across the jacket worn by Lewis Morris of New York, played by Howard Caine! Some Hollywood costume shop was selling it for $300. I couldn't pass it up. It isn't the jacket he wore for the majority of the movie, the sky blue cloth-type one, but the other one he wore, the light blue 'satin tunic' as the certificate of authenticity says. He wore it during "Cool, Cool Considerate Men," the point in the movie where everyone decided to change clothes for awhile.

It's held up well over the past 40 years. It's faded a bit, the originally white buttons are almost black now, and it has two big coffee stains (I think it's coffee). Must have been some cast party. Nothing a good cleaning can't fix. Best of all, it fits me like a glove. I'm the same height and build as the actor, about 5'8". I don't have the same hair, though.

It's not William Daniels' jacket, also my size (the ultimate find), but it's still awesome having something from the movie.

Congratulations! That is a great find and this is my favorite historical period for costume.

The Fabio Principle: Puffy shirts look best on men who look even better without them.
