A Fourth of July tradition?

Anybody else out there look forward to watching this every year on TCM?

I do. I love this movie.

I own the DVD so I don't need TCM, but watching it is an annual traditional.

Oh, the Who-manity!

Every year.

Watching it right now. It is a family tradition. My family saw the play in 1976 in Philadelphia. It was performed in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, right near the Liberty Bell. The cast was the same as is the film. It was incredible!!!

I just finished watching the Director's cut DVD…I like seeing the parts that were cut, including the musical number "Cool, Considerate Men".

Watched the extended cut on Blu ray last night. So great to have the complete "Twiddle Piddle and Resolve" and "Mama, Look Sharp".

Yep and Easter Parade every Easter

My annual tradition was observed today. I watch a boot-copy Blu-Ray that preserves all the material from the LD cut including the Overture/Entr'acte and the original underscore for the tower scene between John and Abigail. I will never watch any of Hunt's cuts.

I only see it on ONCE this year (2016) and it is at 1:00 AM!!

I want my "1776!"

reply

Yes it's as much a tradition for me on the fourth of July as watching "24 hours of a Christmas Story" on Christmas Eve. I wish they'd run "24 hours of 1776"!
