Bull and ox ?
I assume it's a castration joke, but a ox is not a castrated bull but a reference to any bovine creature from cow to moose where a bull just refers to a male bovine, so what does Frankin's joke mean?

shareThat joke confused me for years and I was glad to discover that I wasn't alone. Your question prompted me to do a little investigating, and I found that an ox is indeed castrated, while a bull is not. So with this knowledge, Franklin's joke makes perfect sense.
