Loudon Wainwright III

why did loudon appear in two episodes?? his charactor and singing had nothing really to do with the episode.was a friend of alda?? or the producers??

reply

Yeah, it is an odd and surreal cameo.

What even makes it odder is that he is dressed, in one of them at lest, in scrubs.
So if he was a Dr. then where was he in the OR?
How come we never saw him doing surgery?

Let me know if I'm on your ignore list.
Thanx!

We did.

reply

Where?
And then what happened to him?
So they go from four doctors to five back down to four?

Let me know if I'm on your ignore list.

In the Season 3 episode "There is Nothing Like a Nurse."

He probably just got transferred or shipped out, as happens in the military.

reply

His character's name was Captain Spaulding, so I assume was a surgeon along with the other captains (Pierce, McIntyre, Hunnicut).

reply

Was there a Cap. Spaulding in the movie? I don't remember the name.

Probably they needed someone to sing and Loudon needed the money and knew somebody. He was a mildly popular singer in those days.

reply

He wasn't in the movie.
