Did 'A War for All Seasons' butterfly away Margaret's marriage?

I recently watched the episode "Mash Olympics" which took place during the 1952 Olympics. In that episode Donald visits Margaret, in "A War for All Seasons" which goes through 1951 there is no mention of Donald. At one point Margaret says she is knitting a sweater for a pilot. So was a major recurring storyline (Margaret's engagement, marriage and divorce) was deleted?

If War for All Seasons took place in 1951 and Olympics took place in 1952, then “War” took place before Margaret got married and there would be no reason to mention it, regardless of which episode aired first.
Margaret's marriage was mentioned in later seasons.

Maybe this series should've been set during Vietnam. It was a longer war.

Dates and years were never consistent in the series, however Margaret does officially get divorced in season 7. So they never "deleted" her marriage, it's just that the specific dates don't line up.

Because Charles is at the NewYears Party I guess we are to assume that Margaret's engagement and wedding was squeezed into the first six months of the War (June-December 1950) along with the entire Henry Blake era. Remember that Charles got there the day Hot Lips came back from her honeymoon.

Again, the dates never lined up on the show. It's not about dates or a timeline. It's about the people and the situation they are in. It's not a documentary.
