Just watched again the episode where John Orchard appeared in the later season as the MP that comes into Rosie's bar for his coffee thats actually supposed to be whiskey. That had to of been very weird for him to get a guest spot and have the recurring character of Ugly John in the first season. I'm sure behind the scenes Alda and Swit and maybe Farr had a strange case of déjà vu.

I recognised him straight away. He was playing an Australian in the later episode. Charles gave him some lip and said something like "The aborigines are the civilised ones!"
This isn't the first time something like this happened because Harry Morgan played a general in an episode before he took on the role of Colonel Potter.
I knew about Harry Morgan playing General Steele (three Es, not together) as well as several other actors, like Mako, playing multiple roles, but I don't think I knew about this one.
