Which characters would have voted for Trump?

And which would have voted for Clinton, and the other candidates?

I see it:

Colonel Flagg: Trump
Frank Burns: Trump.
Margaret Houlihan: Trump
Hawkeye: Clinton
Trapper: Clinton
Radar: Gary Johnson (I don't know -- he just gives off that libertarian vibe).
Klinger: Gary Johnson
BJ. Hunnicutt: Clinton
Potter: That's a tough one, but I can't see him voting Trump.
Rizzo: Trump.
Father Mulcahy: I imagine him sitting the election out.

reply

Flagg - Trump
Burns - Trump
Winchester - Trump
Houlihan - Trump but would have liked Clinton
Hawkeye - Clinton but would have preferred Sanders, also would have campaigned to allow Obama to run for another term.
Trapper - Clinton
Radar - Trump but would have told everyone he was voting for Clinton.
Klinger - Johnson just to be difficult.
Hunnicut - Clinton
Potter - Trump
Rizzo - Trump
Mulchay - Trump
Blake - Hard one, I think in the end he would have decided on Trump.
Sidney - Clinton, unless he found someone even more Left leaning.

I really like the creative ideas in your post.

I think Hawkeye would have loved Sanders though. So why campaign for Obama if he could get Sanders ? Theres no point really, Sanders is the superior candidate.

And Klinger would know that voting something insignificant wouldnt actually "being difficult". Trump said he wants the USA to stop playing world police, Klinger would have loved that.

I was being a little facetious with Hawkeye campaigning for Obama to be able to run for a 3rd term, it just seems like the kind of SJW nonsense Hawkeye would do especially given Obama is black.

I actually doubt he would have liked voting for Hilary as he seems really misogynistic to me most of the time.

Klinger was a hard one, I agree Trump wanting to become isolationist would appeal to Klinger but he might have had problems with some of his other ideas, so I figured if he voted at all he might just give it to someone who would have little chance of winning.

Wish they'd never brought in the two term limit.

Interesting observation. Interesting in that the 22cd amendment limiting the presidency to 2 terms (with a ten year cap) had just gone into effect in 1952. As a sitting president, Truman was exempt from it and could have run again but chose not to. So Hawkeye could have voted for Obama for a third term.

reply

SO off.

Flagg - Trump
Burns - Trump
Winchester - Trump
Houlihan - Clinton but would have liked Clinton. A Republican in that time period, but her mentality was much more of Democrat is today.
Hawkeye - Clinton but would have preferred Sanders, also would have campaigned to allow Obama to run for another term.
Trapper - Clinton
Radar - Clinton.
Klinger - Clinton
Hunnicut - Clinton
Potter - Clinton
Rizzo - Trump
Mulchay - Either sat out or voted Trump begrudgingly
Blake - Clinton
Sidney - Clinton, unless he found someone even more Left leaning.

reply

Mulcahy probably would've voted Gary Johnson as well.

reply

The Frank Burns era Margaret would have certainly would have voted for Trump. The post Donald divorce Margaret would have voted for Clinton.

Absolutely no way Fr. Mulcahy votes for Trump. No chance at all.

Good observation. I was just thinking that after writing my post.

Depends on how you see Trump. Trump engaged with the people and wants to support the workers. Hillary on the other hand is an elitist who thought people would be fooled by celebrities.

Trump wants to protect people from crime. Hillary is a criminal.

"Trump wants to protect people from crime."

LOL.

reply

What is so LOL about that?

Oh sorry, you are probably one of the rioting Hilarity supporters who can't handle the fact that she lost.

reply

Only in the undemocratic Electoral College.

She is? Has she been on trial, and convicted of said crime? Her actions were deemed inappropriate, but not criminal. Get over it.

reply

From what I see she had the FBI on the pay roll. We'll see what happens soon won't we.

Hillary's supporters will be all over D.C. on election day:

They just announced on tonight's news that the US Park Svc. has given it's first ever permit for a protester gathering on the Natl. Mall during an inauguration.

The map shown on TV has their area/section about 2.5 miles from the Capitol though; so their complaining about location should be all over the news w/in a few days.

First they say it's tourist season; then I'm arrested for shooting one ?!?

I disagree. Houlihan would have been turned off by Trump, quite massively. And she would have loved to vote for a de facto very conservative woman like Clinton, even if Clinton was the "wrong" party.

Which of the characters in Altman's film would've voted for Trump?

Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Pete Townshend watch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

reply

Your list left out Henry Blake (my favorite). I think Henry would have voted Clinton. He was a commanding officer, but not of Potter's ilk. I agree with your list with one exception; I think Klinger would have voted for Clinton. Good observation about Radar; I agree he gives off a Libertarian vibe.

Ladies and gentlemen...Mr.Conway Twitty

That's right! And it's funny that I forgot Blake, considering he's one of my favorite characters. Yeah, he'd probably vote Clinton.

reply

I think Klinger would have absolutely no way not ever voted for Clinton, because she wants more war and thats the last thing Klinger wants.

Klinger would have voted Trump because Trump states he thinks the USA should take a timeoff from playing world police.

Francis Mulcahy would have never voted for Trump. Because, the Pope was like "oh heck no!" on Trump. And, Mulcahy being the good Catholic man he is would never ever vote for Trump because of that.

reply

Colonel Flagg: Trump
Frank Burns: Trump.
I was thinking the same thing.

Also -

General Steele: Trump.

Hawkeye: Trump (Sanders really)
Trapper: - (Trump if pressed to vote)
Hunnicut: Clinton (Sanders really)
Radar: - (Clinton if pressed to vote)
Blake: Clinton
Potter: Clinton (probably wouldnt vote at all if it was Sanders vs Trump)
Houlihan: Clinton (she'd be delighted to vote for a woman & Trump would turn her off)
Burns: - (Trump if pressed to vote)
Winchester: Clinton (Trump would be too incompetent)
Klinger: Trump (Sanders really)
Mulcahy: - (Clinton if pressed to vote, would have wanted Sanders)
Flagg: - (Trump if pressed to vote, but he would complain he wanted someone completely riddiculously conservative instead)
Sidney: Clinton (like Potter wouldnt vote if it was Sanders vs Trump)
