Finish?

Was this show able to finish with a final episode?

reply

Yes, I saw it long after the show went off the air. I don't think it even aired till after the show ended, but don't quote me on that part.
It starred Brandon Lee.

Finish was when Carradine finds his brother, help him and said he completed his cicle.
That movie with Brandon Lee was a fail. The Kung Fu: the legends continues was a crazy better idea.
But I always imagined Kwai Chang Caine living with some of the nice lady farmers he found in his travels.

Hey, I looked it up and I was right. It aired in 1986, here is the link:

Actually, there was a climax episode in 1975 at the end of the show's run. Kwai Chang, his brother Danny, his nephew and their grandfather united and decided to live together on the grandfather's estate in San Francisco. The 1986 airing was a TV movie that never mentioned the outcome of the original series. It united him with the son he never knew to battle an evil manchu that had come to America to settle the score with Kwai Chang. I always found it very curious that Keith Carradine was never listed as a member of the cast, although he played the teenaged Caine at the monastery for the duration of the show.

If you get to see the show again, you'll see that there were three different Caine's during his monastery years. The youngest was played by Radames Pera, the teenaged Caine was Keith Carradine, and of course, the older Caine was David.

Keith Carradine is credited as Middle Caine on his imdb page. I think he is the one they show in the opening credits practicing fighting.

The original series ended with a FOUR EPISODE finale in 1975. I well recall that time. The show's my all=time fav, so I was more than a little P.O.'d when the local ABC affiliate, after showing the first two episodes, pre-empted the last two episodes, showing Billy Graham Crusade shows in their stead! They didn't reschedule the shows either. And Kung Fu was not rerun on ABC that summer. I finally saw the episodes 5 or 6 years later, but it was less than satisfying after all that time, to say the least...

It did finish with 4 final episodes. It is my all time favorite show. But the finale to the series is a little bit of a let down. Not because he does'nt stay with his brother and nephew.I understand Taoist thought he had to keep wandering.I thought it was a letdown in that there was only one flashback in the final 4 episodes. In reply to the other replys here Keith Carradine was only in the first season of the show.He left shortly after to go to New York to do stage acting for a while. Also Danny and Zeke did not stay with General Cantrell and his son. They were going to get their own ranch. I know because I have almost all of the series on tape except about 5 episoes and I have seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and on August 23 Warner will release season 3.
