Caine murdered the Royal Nephew, instead of it being an accident, ...
I have less sympathy for this murderer.
I LOVE the show. Despite being a murderer, I like
Caine A LOT.

The royal nephew was reloading his weapon when Cain threw the spear.His intent was'nt to kill him.It was to stop him from firing again.He threw the spear to protect master Po.

drloomis, you claim that Caine threw it to protect Master Po,
but Wikipedia claims that Mater Po was already dead, and that
Caine retaliated by killing the Royal Nephew.

I dont know how the show intended it to seem.I can only account for what i saw when i watched it.In the episode it clearly shows the royal nephew reloading his pistol to i assume fire again as Cain picks up the spear and throws it.Again i dont know what the creators were going for but it looked to me like he was defending master Po from being fired on again.

No guess work is required.
The Royal Nephew, a full grown man, shoots and mortally wounds Master Po.
Caine overcomes the Royal Nephew's guards while the Royal Nephew ducks behind his sedan chair to reload. Caine takes and throws the spear through the back of hte chair which kills the Royal Nephew.
Caine then goes back and talks to Master Po who, following the conversation, expires. While Master Po was a very remarkable man, I doubt that even he could have asked 'did you kill him?', if he himself were dead at that time.
In the next episode, King of the Mountain, during a flashback in which Caine confesses his actions to Master Kan, it is clearly stated that Master Po was not yet dead when Caine killed the Royal Nephew and that Caine could not leave Master Po while he lived.
Speaking on Caine's actions in the death of the Royal Nephew, Master Kan says:
"The sin would have been to desert Master Po or to remain to senselessly accept your own death. Death does no one honor. The shame of his death does not lie on you, but on the Nephew of the Emperor. So shall it be recorded into eternity."
Master Po was alive, though dying, and Caine was defending them both of them against further violence from the Royal Nephew.
Good synopsis. Wikipedia screwed the pooch on this one.
