wat is the name of the flute he carries around and plays?

Actually it didn't really have a name, it was just a bamboo flute he carried with him. He had three of various sizes and designs throughtout the run of the series.
If you get series 3 you'll see David Carradine even carries a flute with him even now. It even appeared in Kill Bill ;) at his request.
